Pay-As-You-Go With the Apple iPhone

The Apple iPhone was released last month with much hype and critical acclaim. The iPhone is a phone, iPod, and wireless web browser all wrapped in to one sleek package. For all its perks though, the iPhone came with one very limiting restriction: in order to use it you had to enter into an expensive service contract with Cingular Wireless. All that changed recently though when a tool called iASign was released that allows iPhone owners to use any Cingular or AT&T SIM card, including prepaid ones, with their device.

The best part is that after modifying your iPhone to use disposable SIM cards, you can still use all the iPhone's great features, including: WiFi, camera, calendar, and the built in web browser. Apple has not yet reacted publically to the iASign tool, so it is unknown as of yet whether they will accept the tool as an inevitable evolution of the iPhone, or if they will try and figure out a way to prevent owners from using it. One thing is for sure, this tool will make the iPhone much more accessible to users accross the country.

Wow, this is really great news! I wasn't planning on buying an iPhone just because of the lengthy contract you had to sign, but now I just might.
